Landscape - one of the most popular genres in photography. To properly provide to the audience the state of nature in your work, among other things, you must also find the right geometrical parameters for this photo. The same picture is totally different as you apply it in various forms framing. Square or panorama - you choose, but the main task of a photographer is to the viewer, looking at the image produced aesthetic pleasure of viewing, as long as possible to keep your eyes on your work.
Panoramic images of nature look impressive if correctly accents the layout of the frame to position the major and minor objects in the composition. In this article, these issues will not be considered. In this article we consider only the technical side of the process of creating panoramas.
Before proceeding to describe the process of creating a panorama, we recall some important points which should be noted when shooting.
Getting to take a picture, in this case - to take dawn desirable to install the camera on a tripod, as sunrise and sunset requires less aperture (in particular, for the best work out the details of the clouds) and, accordingly, a slower shutter speed. By gidrourovnya tripod set the correct position horizon.
To prevent, or significantly reduce camera shake when the shutter is released, I recommend using the self-timer with 10-second delay, or cable. The camera settings is desirable to set the shutter delay mode, if supported by your camera. White Balance (WB) can be left in automatic mode if you shoot in RAW. RAW format if you are not available, please try to set the white balance manually selecting 5000-6000 K (if shooting dawn). This color temperature makes sunrise more natural and warm. Shot, which I use in this article, out of BB 5550 K. Exposure mode - aperture-priority auto (where the diaphragm - 22f, shutter speed - 1/40 sec.) That displays all the images remained the same, we must first make a metering point middle-brightness (this may be the clouds painted in orange light), see Figure 1, and then go to manual exposure (M), by selecting the appropriate settings, and shoot all the shots from this exposure. Metering mode for the photos - the matrix. Quality - iso 100.
Load all the photos in the editor, in this case there are three. All source files RAW, when you Jpeg - not terrible, it is important that they are similar in the exposure and sharpness. But if you can not remove the entire series of shots with the same exposure - not terrible... clever Photoshop CS5 will exhibit itself in all the frames the same. This also works if the process converting some shots appear lighter or darker in relation to other... But do not be too much to hope for superpowers Photoshop, for the correct operation of the program need to have the best quality source, which will maximize the effectiveness of treatment. Save the file without any processing on the desktop (01, 02, 03), see Figure 2.
Go to File> Automate> Photomerge... In the resulting window, click on the "Add Open Files" and set the checkboxes as shown below, see Figure 3.
Press Ok, and wait until the program completes processing.
For images scanned vertical limits joining fragments, and if you shut down one of the layers - contour cutting are available for viewing. It is very rare but it happens that the program can not handle the exact adjustment of the individual small parts, so you should check out the contours of the gluing of fit, see Figure 5.
Manually, the process panorama stitch would take much more time.
We type the key combination Ctrl+E (merge layers), then filter "plastic" little snapping of the picture are the edges of the frame, see Figure 6, Figure 7.
Crop the image according to the rules of the golden section (rule of thirds), placing emphasis and location of major and minor objects composition, see Figure 8, Figure 9.
The next step is a creative and individual, depending on the altitude of your imagination. You may be able to play with color, tone, dynamic range, retouch, etc. Process photos better in 16-bit mode, as This mode is best preserved parts in the midtones, see Figure 10.
As you can see, there is nothing complicated about creating panoramas. The most difficult - is to choose the place and time of shooting, and the rest will be Photoshop CS5 - Photomerge.
Some of my work can be seen in the Gallery Panorama. I wish you all more successful panoramas. Thank you for your attention.
